HR and Communication

The HR/personnel- and communication department

In our capacity as personnel and HR department, we provide for a modern personnel policy custom designed for our employees. In a complex environment we adopt a solution- and results-driven approach to our work, and prepare for the future. The HR Manager coordinates the various units of the HR/personnel department.


The HR Service Center is a team of personnel consultants acting as a single information centre. They are responsible for handling HR questions from all the employees regarding their personnel file and their personal situation in a professional context. The eight personnel consultants, managed by an HR Service Center Supervisor, take care of the administrative processing of each employee’s personnel file. From the signing of the contract to the many questions arising during the individual’s career... they provide for customised follow-up and monitoring services.


The HR Business Partner is an HR advisor and point of contact for managers in respect of all HR matters. The four HRBPartners constitute a strategic partner, and help the various managers, from an HR perspective, to achieve their objectives, to tackle specific cases and to give support in the pursuit and fulfilment of a particular department’s policy.


The HR Remuneration, Data and Systems unit is responsible for payroll, compensation and benefits, data management, monitoring of the planning system and HR-related financial reporting. The HR Payroll Expert, HR Compensation & Benefits Expert and HR Planning Expert are managed and overseen by the HR Remuneration, Data and Systems Coordinator.

The hospital’s development and training policy is developed and implemented by our Job-specific training expert.

The Recruitment and Selection unit, made up of two recruiters directed by a coordinator, showcases the UZ Brussel as an attractive employer, determines the appropriate job description details of a particular vacancy (in conjunction with the managerial staff), and is responsible for the recruitment and selection process.

 

The Communication unit is responsible for all communication in and about the UZ Brussel. Among other things, it is responsible for:

  • Internal communication: the intranet, the monthly staff magazine “Uzegt”, staff events
  • External communication: the Internet, the quarterly magazine “Muze”, newsletters, press relations and press conferences.

This department is made up of four employees, responsible for external communication, internal communication, digital communication and layout, respectively. They are directed by the Communication Manager who also acts as spokesman.
