The Logistics Department is responsible for all logistical processes within the hospital, encompassing both patient and goods logistics. The following services are managed directly from within Logistics:

  • Loading and unloading quay
  • CSM storehouse (sterile materials storehouse)
  • Logistical team for the provisioning and scanning of stocks in the departments and wards
  • Central lending office
  • Medication transport
  • Internal Patient transport + mortuary
  • Logistics OR

Aside from the direct management of these services, Logistics is also closely involved in various projects with a logistics component, on a hospital-wide basis.

At the moment there are some 25 people working in goods logistics, seeing to it that all the departments receive their supplies at the right time. Meanwhile some 20 people are employed on the patient logistics side, ensuring that patients are taken to the tests or examinations they have scheduled in a pleasant and comfortable manner.

Within goods logistics we put around 80,000 different deliveries into packages every year. On top of that we have an additional 6,000 pallets every year that have to be received, put away and eventually taken to the department. As far as patient transport is concerned, we carry out around 47,000 job instructions per year.

Logistics is on the move all the time, you could quite literally say. Our staff turns up everywhere, and are familiar faces in the hospital. To ensure that all these logistical processes pass off smoothly, we need solid team players with an eye for quality. We therefore have a strong team in which individual attention to the employee is very important, although focus is certainly also placed on good fellowship. What’s more, there are always a number of interesting projects under way in Logistics, so our employees always have sufficiently challenging work on their plates.
